AeroCoin keeps what people like about gift cards, a fixed dollar value, and adds what points programs rarely offer: a balance you hold yourself and can share.
| Typical gift card | Typical points program | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Value | Fixed at $1.00 of credit per coin | Fixed dollar amount | Set by the program and can change |
| Where you can use it | AeroAssist and AeroHome | Usually one store | Usually one program |
| Spend part of it | Down to one cent | Usually | Often in fixed blocks |
| Share with someone | Send any amount to any Base wallet | Hand over the whole card | Rarely allowed |
| Where the balance lives | In your own wallet, on a public ledger | In the issuer's system | In the program's account |
| Check your balance | Anytime, in your wallet or on Basescan | Through the issuer | By signing in to the program |
Gift card and points columns describe common practice, not any particular company's program.
Your wallet
Any wallet that supports the Base network works, such as Coinbase Wallet or MetaMask. Keep your recovery phrase offline and never share it.
Add AeroCoin to your wallet's token list using the details shown here, so your balance appears next to your other assets.
Give AeroAssist your wallet address when you join rewards or make a purchase, and your coins arrive there.
The coin
AeroCoin is designed like a minted coin: a platinum rim with a reeded edge, an engraved gold ring, and a dark proof field with an engine-turned pattern.
Safeguards
AeroCoin's rules are written into its smart contract on Base, so they apply to every coin, every time.
New credit can only be created up to a set amount each day.
The amount of unspent credit outstanding at any time has a fixed ceiling.
Changes to AeroCoin's settings need sign-off from more than one keyholder.
If something looks wrong, activity can be paused while it's resolved.
If you lose access to your wallet, your balance can be moved to a new one after we verify it's you.3
Every coin spent is destroyed on the spot, so credit can never be used twice.
